The most famous of the Salzburg markets is the Grünmarkt. It is beautifully located in the center of the old town and thus exudes a special charm. Especially towards the weekend, it is very lively here and one can find all desired varieties of fruits and vegetables. Monday to Friday, you can shop here from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and every Saturday from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Another highly visited market in Salzburg is the Schrannenmarkt in front of the Mirabell Palace, where mainly fruits and vegetables are offered. But there are also meat products and local typical dishes to be found here. For shopping enthusiasts, there are besides souvenirs also some stalls selling suspenders and similar items. The Schrannenmarkt is open every Thursday from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
