If you want to do some shopping during your stay in Salzburg and stroll comfortably through the historical lanes, you should pay a small visit to Linzergasse in the New town district.
Here you will find everything your heart desires: cafés and restaurants, exquisite boutiques and shoe shops. In the Linzergasse shopping is possible without the usual stress and hectic of a large shopping center.
Especially recommended is the resident music store, which has a huge and yet exquisite selection. Here you can often find the pieces that no other business within a radius of several hundred kilometers leads.
There is also a rather traditional shop in Linzergasse, which sells souvenirs such as gingerbread and candles, as well as an excellent stationer’s.
From your accommodation you can reach the historic alley within a few minutes by car. If you want to go shopping even more relaxed, you can easily use the good bus connection between our hotel and the Linzergasse.
In Roman times, the lane was regarded as the main traffic artery between Salzburg, Linz and Vienna. Many of the houses have been there for several centuries and give Linzergasse its unique, ancient flair.
If you come here for shopping, you should definitely pay a visit to the Engel Pharmacy, which has been established since 1809, in which the famous writer Georg Trakl had worked during his time as an assistant. After shopping, the cozy Café Habakuk invites you for a little breather.
If you feel like a little historical excursion afterwards, you should definitely visit the church St. Sebastian and its cemetery. Here, for example, lie numerous members of the famous Salzburg Mozart family of musicians, as well as the famous physician Paracelsus, who incidentally lived in Linzergasse between 1540 and 1541.
Of course, you will receive detailed directions and a city map from our staff at the reception desk so that your shopping trip is as stress-free as possible.
