It’s only recently that we have been in Christmas stress and before we could turn around, the New Year has already begun again. Do you belong to the kind of people who use the turn of the year for making good resolutions? If so, then you should plan to dedicate your time in 2018 to those who are in need. We have summed up a few suggestions of the Caritas for voluntary work in Salzburg for you so that you can immediately use the New Year for collecting good karma:

Children and Adolescents

For the Lerncafés of Salzburg, caretakers are needed who can help the children with their homework and the preparation for tests and who create their leisure time together with them. If you love to cook, you could also make meals for the adolescents of the night shelter Exit7. Moreover, you will get the possibility to support young applicants for asylum with the development of language skills and with their school exercises as their learning mentor.

Applicants for Asylum

In the refugee hostels of Salzburg, persons of contact for the residents are needed. Moreover, you can also participate in handicraft activities and in the garden work, organise excursions, contribute to cultural events or just talk German with the applicants of asylum.

People in Need

Support for the night duty, the garment hand-out and for kitchen tasks is required at the night shelter. People with sales talent however, are in great demand at the social market.

Seniors

Currently, the retirement home is looking for helpers in the visiting and advisory service who go for a walk or shopping with the residents or just talk to them. Additionally, people who organise leisure facilities for small groups are needed.

People with Disabilities

Also the Dorf St. Anton needs dedicated assistans for the visiting and advisory service. Aside from that, you can play a part in the day workshops, in the organisation of leisure activities and in the coordination of events. In the Tageszentrum Mittersill, support for the dish washing is required as well as for the weekly market and for the planning of excursions.
